Cherokee The Cherokee are a part of the Iroquoian Language family. The Cherokee had matrilineal clans. In some religious studies it is believed that their main deity, the Sun God, was actually female and a Goddess. During pregnancy, the mother-to-be had a ceremonial bath under every new moon prior to the baby's birth. After the baby was born, the infant was bathed daily. |
